Divination of the Day 08 04 2022

Are you meant to break tradition?

Untying the knots of Generational Curses

Tradition can be a word with a double meaning. When you think of tradition, do you think of holidays such as Christmas or Thanksgiving? Do you think about good times or perhaps the word evokes a different meaning?

Some people believe that traditions are behaviors that must be upheld no matter what the situation. Spiritual traditions, for example, can have rich, historical ties to our ancestors. They can be radiant expressions of our collective appreciation for the cycles of time and nature.

Traditions from various cultures have been passed down through the generations. They may act as physical anchors to the words of elders long gone. For me, even if I don’t agree with a particular tradition, I respect that the knowledge of its practice should be seen as valid for those practicing it.

I feel like someone out there really needs to hear this.

The ancestors are asking if you understand that some traditions are okay to let go. If you are trying to grow as a person, there can be a need for evolution. Some habits or practices may work better for you. Consider that it’s not uncommon to feel like you must do something because it’s always been done. Don’t be afraid to question the meaning of the family tradition or habit that you grew up with.

Habits or traditions which take away from your mental, spiritual, and physical well being are not worth celebrating no matter how many generations have said, “it’s always been this way.”

If you are working with your ancestors to forge a better path, invoke the ancestors who have your best interests in mind. Those that want to evolve with you. What worked in their life may not work in this one, so don’t feel bad if you’re seeking a change. Ask them to show you what habits are not serving you. Write it down. And then, slowly work on changing those habits into happier traditions.

What is divination?

Divination is the ability to determine one’s spiritual path by using tools such as tarot cards, runes, or pendulums. There are many methods of divination from across the world. The overall goal of the practitioner is to connect with supernatural forces and allow these guides to help them in their personal growth. Curious Curio Conjurations uses multiple techniques to provide an accurate forecast. These divinations are not to replace professional medical or mental health treatment. Please consult with a doctor on any such matter.

Mexican Loteria Card of the Day 08 04 2022 La Chalupa

Mexican Loteria Card of the Day 08 04 2022

”What is the truth of my situation?”

“La Chalupa” “The Small Boat”

“Don’t underestimate the small moves you make!”

Seeing this card in our divination today calls us to focus on the little changes we’re making. Society and other people can make us feel like we have to do gigantic changes overnight to be successful. It is highly unlikely that such a major change will manifest into a long-term solution because we are forcing ourselves into a situation we may not be ready for in the present moment.

If you are looking to make a change, try this:

  • Write in a journal, “Is this change achievable with my current situation?” For example, if you’re trying to lose weight and you have a medical condition – ASK YOUR DOCTOR how to best tackle this situation in a sustainable manner. Not following advice could lead to serious medical complications.
  • Acknowledge your fear! Fear isn’t a bad thing! It’s a signal that we have concerns! They may be valid, so write those down and share them with someone you trust. This could be a mental health professional or a best friend. Having a wide-variety of perspectives can help validate your emotions so you can move forward WHEN YOU’RE READY.
  • Make a realistic goal. Change occurs when we are actively practicing meeting our goals. Making a goal that is attainable is a healthy way to plan for a change. For example, if you’d like to save money, perhaps set a goal of putting aside $1 a day. It may sound like a tiny amount, however in 30 days, you’ll have the habit of putting aside the money and $30.

What are Mexican Loteria cards?

Originally, Mexican Loteria cards were used in a bingo-like game.‌ ‌They‌ ‌were‌ ‌not‌ ‌used‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌divination tool ‌until‌ ‌recently‌ ‌when‌ ‌the‌ ‌main‌ ‌supplier,‌ ‌Don‌ ‌Clemente,‌ ‌made‌ ‌the‌ ‌cards‌ ‌more uniform. The deck, consisting of 54 cards generally depicts art and symbolism present in Mexican culture.‌ ‌

These cards are usually aimed at children or for general entertainment, but modern divination researchers, such as Garth Tardy, contributed to their development. Most of my information comes from this website:

I use the Loteria cards as a way of understanding how I can face hurdles in my life. I feel that they compliment the tarot, oracle, and affirmation decks well because they provide a different perspective on the theme of the day.

“La Meceta” The Flower Pot

If we think of a flower pot, we may think of a heavy, immovable object which is stuck in place. Moving a flower pot may damage the growth of the plants inside. Allow yourself to see this situation before you – what seems like an immovable object – as a chance to grow. You can not control the actions of those around you however you can adapt your routine to suit you best. It might be a walk in the park during the loud times at your house, or rotating your daily chores to free up some time for self care. The idea here is to concentrate on what’s sustainable in the long run. Seeds don’t become blooming plants overnight – take a little time to be still and grow.

Divination of the Day 07 29 2022

Divination of the Day 07 29 2022

Ancestors ask, “Are you listening to the voice of your inner child?”

Are you seeking a closer connection with the Universe? You might be trying to connect with a God or Goddess, or develop a dialogue with your ancestors?

In my experience, the first step in the path in connecting with the spiritual world is developing some kind of regular conversation with your inner child. Your inner child is a representation of who you were when you were a child. A thought form that grew from the memories you had of yourself. This includes hobbies, thoughts, and weird quirks that you remember starting in early childhood.

For myself, I remember making up these little stories about my toys. I was enchanted by the idea of “My Little Pony” and I was also into listening to my grandmother talk about Catholicism. I would take these two passions and combine them into one. I would make a world where the My Little Ponies had their Magick and regularly worked with their Gods to maintain balance. Yeah, it was a child’s way of seeing religion – yet it was potent.

I carried those stories in my heart for the rest of my life. When I decided to start growing my intuition and connection to the spiritual world, I decided to start making those little stories in my head about my interactions with the Gods, the earth, and the ancestors.

Yes, my stories have evolved based on the education I have pursued in my life, however what I played as a child became an effective way of working with Magick & Divination.

Is your inner child an art, a writer, or something else? What ideas did you have as a child and what can you do with them now?

You are capable of tapping into this flow of cosmic energy if you are willing to put a little time aside for yourself and your inner child. Blessings!

“El Tambor” “The Drum”

You are being looked at in a new light and as a result, you are viewing life differently. Someone out there is almost stunned by the turnaround you’ve done lately. They are unsure how to proceed, however, they admire your ability to put your best foot forward. As a result, don’t look at “the drums” as the drums of war. This situation is not about conflict. It is deeply rooted in communication between two or more parties. Continue to grow and allow this person or group to process the positive change they are seeing in your actions.

“La Palma”

Last yet not least, we have “La Palma” or “The Palm Tree.” When we see this card come up in a divination (especially if this is a last card we pull) it means the fruits of our labor are coming. We are putting in a tremendous amount of hard work and sacrifice in order to grow and the universe is rewarding our efforts.

Loteria of the Day 07 18 2022

Loteria of the Day 07 18 2022

“El Pajaro” “The Bird”

The Loteria card “El Pajaro” references a little bird bouncing around from branch to branch. Liken this little bird to our thoughts and you get a mind that’s unable to rest due to overthinking. Don’t worry incessantly about the parts of your life that are beyond your control. Obsessing over them and trying to make them better can actually do the opposite for your mental health. Instead, try focusing on a new project to keep your mind from slipping into a rut.

Loteria of the Day 07 15 2022

Loteria of the Day 07 15 2022

“La Rana” “The Frog”

Life is changing quickly as you progress through your spiritual development. Things have transformed in such a way that your new life is unrecognizable from before you began this journey. The Universe is asking you to calm down and breathe. You may be over thinking or worrying too much about the future. It’s important to look before leaping, however, sometimes life is just that – a leap to a place better than our current circumstances.

This card appears when transformation for the better is coming. It may seem scary at first, however, trust in what you’ve learned to carry you!

Loteria of the Day 07 11 2022

Loteria of the Day 07 11 2022

“La Palma” /  “The Palm Tree”

Reciprocal Energy

Your devotion to your cause is strong and it is recognized. Those you have helped are coming to repay you for your hard work. Favors being called in. Both sides are working to find common, peaceful ground.

This is a shift of ego. The end of the old cycles and the beginning of something new. Focus on home and let the rest of the pieces fall where they may.
