Mexican Loteria Card of the Day 08 04 2022
”What is the truth of my situation?”
“La Chalupa” “The Small Boat”
“Don’t underestimate the small moves you make!”
Seeing this card in our divination today calls us to focus on the little changes we’re making. Society and other people can make us feel like we have to do gigantic changes overnight to be successful. It is highly unlikely that such a major change will manifest into a long-term solution because we are forcing ourselves into a situation we may not be ready for in the present moment.
If you are looking to make a change, try this:
- Write in a journal, “Is this change achievable with my current situation?” For example, if you’re trying to lose weight and you have a medical condition – ASK YOUR DOCTOR how to best tackle this situation in a sustainable manner. Not following advice could lead to serious medical complications.
- Acknowledge your fear! Fear isn’t a bad thing! It’s a signal that we have concerns! They may be valid, so write those down and share them with someone you trust. This could be a mental health professional or a best friend. Having a wide-variety of perspectives can help validate your emotions so you can move forward WHEN YOU’RE READY.
- Make a realistic goal. Change occurs when we are actively practicing meeting our goals. Making a goal that is attainable is a healthy way to plan for a change. For example, if you’d like to save money, perhaps set a goal of putting aside $1 a day. It may sound like a tiny amount, however in 30 days, you’ll have the habit of putting aside the money and $30.

What are Mexican Loteria cards?
Originally, Mexican Loteria cards were used in a bingo-like game. They were not used as a divination tool until recently when the main supplier, Don Clemente, made the cards more uniform. The deck, consisting of 54 cards generally depicts art and symbolism present in Mexican culture.
These cards are usually aimed at children or for general entertainment, but modern divination researchers, such as Garth Tardy, contributed to their development. Most of my information comes from this website:

I use the Loteria cards as a way of understanding how I can face hurdles in my life. I feel that they compliment the tarot, oracle, and affirmation decks well because they provide a different perspective on the theme of the day.
