Norse Rune of the Day 07 20 2022
Isa
The Norse rune of Isa means “ICE”. It can indicate a period of stagnation or the need to slow down and give thought to something. In this case, the Universe is asking us to take a moment from our busy days and consider where our lives are going. Are we flowing to the rhythm of the world around us or are we facing a deep longing for some greater purpose? If you’re being nagged by a burdensome thought, then perhaps sit with it for a moment instead of piling more on.
What are the Norse Runes?
Originally from Germany and Scandinavia, Norse runes are an ancient alphabet. Pagans and Heathens (people who follow the Northern traditions) use them for divination (foretelling). There are 24 runes in what is known as the Elder Futhark version. Odin is said to have gained access to the sacred alphabet by hanging upside down from the world tree (Yggdrasil) for nine days.
