Jericho Rose
The Jericho rose (Selaginella lepidophylla) is sometimes referred to as “the resurrection plant” by some. This refers to the ability of this plant to appear completely dried out or dead, but then come back to life once water is added. The Jericho Rose is a potent curio in the use of healing or prosperity work due to its natural restorative behavior. You will find this plant as a popular addition to spells in traditions such as Voudou and Santeria.
Here’s a quick way to reap the benefits of Jericho rose. Place the Jericho rose in a shallow bowl. As you add the water, envision the trickle of cash heading your way. Add just a small bit of water at a time and keep the Jericho rose in good light to avoid mold growing on your plant. As you renew the water, keep up the visualization of wealth flowing your way.
I generally add my Jericho rose on an altar decorated with orange candles, citrus fruit, and cinnamon for an amplified effect on success and prosperity work. You could pair the Jericho rose with green (or red candles if you work with the Norse Goddess Eir) candles. Effective herbs for healing include Majoram (clear mind) Echinecea (clear body) and Poke Root (clear spirit).
This is just the very basics of the biology and magickal use of the Jericho rose. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me for more information. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day! – Quill
