Black Walnuts

These black walnuts were found by my children as we explored a park. My favorite thing about these little guys is that when you crack them open they sometimes have little faces inside. You could use these as the head for a poppet (doll) or some other related craft. These are not “new” walnuts and have been sitting around for a while.

Black walnuts are primarily used in my practice to cut off ties‌ ‌to‌ ‌people,‌ ‌places, or‌ ‌ideas‌ ‌which‌ ‌no‌ ‌longer‌ ‌serve‌ ‌me. I may actually hold one of these nuts in my hand while working on my “Shadow self” or grind some up and take a spiritual bath after a stressful encounter. With great success, black walnut oil has served me well in justice spells when I need a little extra “oomph” to bring light to a subject.

The black walnut tree is an interesting character too. It releases chemicals which inhibit the growth of other trees and thus change the composition of the soil to only benefit its self and other black walnuts.
