The Open Door

The Open Door

By Shining Quill the Unicorn

Once there was a dingy little goat who had a lust,
and opening a door was a must,
Keep pound on the door, keep knocking,
An unsatisfied urge had been unlocking,
They laughed at the little goat as she tried,
and even made fun of her as she cried,
‘You’ll never do it, that’s for sure!’
They taunted as she kept trying at the door,
Over and over until her hooves had bled,
in her minds, every word they had said,
the pain, the teasing, the insults, and heartless jeer,
flooded her mind, making her dizzy and queer,
She wanted to give up at times, she really did,
the idea of succumbing to the darkness could flip her lid,
over and over, day and night,
the door remained unmoved, locked up tight,
Finally, the little goat flinched,
and here is where the tale gets cinched,
Kept under lock and key,
was the secret to her very own mystery,
The anger, the sorrow, the pain were all real,
and soured life like a stinky old lemon peel,
yet they were a power like any other,
and could heal as well as smother,
so she regrouped her efforts, her ability and thought,
and started again on that door as she ought,
Over and over the little goat did not abate,
she kept at it as if driven by fate,
remembering the thought and kindness,
it cured her inner visioner’s blindness,
and with a pop and a bang, it finally did yield,
the door did show what it had concealed,
a mirror on the other side,
and showed the gruff goat her inner child,
no more lies and running away, no more sorrow to mourn,
She was now a Unicorn. – Shining Quill the Unicorn for Ostara
